I took off a star because the switch between the colors, most notably blue for inhale and purple for hold is very sort of jerky, like it doesn't feel smooth or calming which I found sort of took away from the fluidity of breathing. Sometimes it feels like a very smooth transition especially when it changes from exhale to inhale, but again other times it sort of stop and seems to like jolt over to the next color. I still love it and 100% recommend, but the color transition is an area that slightly reduces its calming effectiveness for me and might for others as well.

This mini breathing pal is such a good idea, and is useful for all ages. Our workplace recently has had mini workshops on how to do “box breathing,” in an effort to provide stress relief tools. This little breathing pal supports that theory, and in helping younger children to slow down, the cute factor really helps.
There are lots of options in setting this up, so read the instructions carefully. This is easy to charge up, and the battery life seems quite long, at least 6-8 hours. The ability to adjust the lighting comes in handy, especially during nap or sleep time.

The mini koala "kyle" light is just the right handheld size for my toddler and its squishiness makes it fun to hold onto. It's a plus that it doesnt require batteries and can be recharged with the universal C cable.
Though honestly we will mainly use it as a night light because the guided mediation breathing exercises are a bit hard to follow even for an adult, let alone having a child follow along. Of the three exercises, only the 'relax' mode is easiest to follow along. The 'reduce stress' mode is the hardest since it requires holding breathe for 7 seconds and exhaling for 8 seconds.... When trying it out myself, it made me feel more stress than actually helping to reduce it.

This guided breathing exercise tool is perfect for kiddos (or even adults) who have trouble regulating their emotions or who struggle with anxiety / big feelings. My daughter is a highly sensitive person and also ADHD so she struggles with both big feelings and with being able to regulate those feelings. We prefer natural remedies, so this was a great option for her. She absolutely loves her "Kyle" light. The koala is super cute and soft. He is squishy and can be cuddled slightly (though the bottom is hard). He is the perfect size to fit in your hand and will guide you through breathing exercises to help your mind and spirit settle into a calm state. The koala light comes with a cord for charging (though no wall port) and clear instructions on how to utilize it. The instructions were clear and easy and my daughter (age 10) was able to read them and understand them. This would be a great gift for anyone who may need a little boost getting to a calm state of mind. The value for what you get is okay, though I feel like the price could be a bit lower for what you get. Overall though, we are super happy with this and would recommend it.

First, he's just straight up cute. He's made of a smooth and soft silicone that feels a bit like baby powder when handle it.
There are three breathing modes and two brightness levels that are super easy to set. The colors during the breathing modes are awesome. The three mode options are to reduce stress, improve focus, and relax mood.
There's also a night light mode which is a solid light yellow shade.
As for value, there are quite a few variations of these breathing lights but I wasn't able to find a lower priced "Kyle", so this seems to be a good value. Even more so if you take advantage of the breathing modes.

I love this concept. I have 2 littles that are very close in age, and sometimes get big feelings (read they get BIG mad) at one another. I have always been one who says something like "Take a moment" or "let's breathe through it", and this light is a huge visual aid. When they get loud and slappy slappy, whoever the instigator is gets to take a few minutes to hang out with Karl the koala. And the great thing is that sometimes, they ASK if they can have Karl. It's adorable! Not only can you choose the breathing pace (there are a few different selections, but I prefer the 4/4/4) via the button on the bottom, but just the act of watching this cute little squishy guy change colors helps with the calming process. Just focus on the koala... breathe in for 4, hold for 4, breathe out for 4... his colors will tell you when it's time. It's quite relaxing! He charges using a USB-C cable. Kyle is my new breathing pal, and also a night light. He's so cute and squishy! He's got 3 breathing modes, and 2 brightness levels. You tap Kyle lightly on the head to change the brightness, and you press the power button each time to change the breathing mode and also get to the night light setting. At the bottom of Kyle, there is a light for 30 and 60 which is to choose for the night light to stay on for 30 minutes or 60 minutes. How long does a charge last?
About 20 hours of use — for most families that is a charge every week or two.
Can they fall asleep with it?
Plenty do. The silicone stays cool and the light switches itself off after two hours, so it will not glow all night.
Can a whole classroom share one?
That is where a lot of them end up. Wipe it down between children, and look at the packs of 3, 6 and 9 if you need several for a calm corner.
