No app, no screen, no set-up. It works the moment it comes out of the box.
A soft press wakes your Pal and starts the 4-7-8 pattern.
Blue to breathe in and the light grows, purple to hold, green to breathe out. Press again for the slower 5-5 rhythm.
One more press for the night light, or the 30-minute sunset fade that dims your Pal to sleep. Both switch off by themselves after two hours.
A tap on your Pal changes the brightness — that works in every mode. Rechargeable over USB-C, about 20 hours a charge.
Pal Playground runs the exact patterns this Pal runs — 4-7-8, box breathing and the balloon breath, with blue to breathe in, purple to hold and green to breathe out. Do a round together here, then let the Pal do it without a screen.
Mid-meltdown, "calm down" rarely lands. A light to follow gives small hands something to do while their body catches up.
Breathing Pals live in calm corners, counsellors’ offices and therapy rooms — one quiet tool a whole class can share.
When the breathing is done, night-light mode keeps the room soft — and a tap sets the brightness they like.

Kyle’s eucalyptus forest dried up, so he set off across Breathing Land to find a new home — and found a family of friends instead.
Free, no sign-up. The same ideas the Pal is built on, in case you want to start tonight.
It gives them something to follow. They breathe in while the light grows and out while it dims, so slow breathing happens without anyone having to explain it. It works best if you introduce it during a calm moment first, then reach for it when feelings run high.
Most families start around 3. Younger toddlers enjoy it as a squishy night light with a grown-up nearby; older kids, teens and adults use the patterns on their own.
None of the three. One button, a built-in rechargeable battery and a USB-C cable in the box.
About 20 hours of use — for most families that is a charge every week or two.
Plenty do. The silicone stays cool and the light switches itself off after two hours, so it will not glow all night.
That is where a lot of them end up. Wipe it down between children, and look at the packs of 3, 6 and 9 if you need several for a calm corner.
