About The Pal Company

The Pal Company makes screen-free calm tools for kids: a breathing light, a visual timer, a night light and a sound companion, each one a soft silicone character a child will actually hold. We created the company to give children a gentle way to find calm in a busy world, because every childhood deserves moments of peace, comfort and wonder, not just screens and noise.

What we make

• Our first PalBreathing Pal

A silent breathing light. Press the button and the glow grows and fades so a child breathes along with it: 4-7-8 for sleep, box breathing for focus, 5-5 for everyday calm. Three sizes, eight characters. See Breathing Pals →

• Time you can seeTimer Pal

A visual timer that shows time as colour instead of numbers, so a four-year-old can see how long "five more minutes" really is. Twist to set 1 to 99 minutes; doubles as a night light. See Timer Pals →

• BedtimeSlumber Pal

A sleep-friendly night light with eight soft colours and a 670 nm red mode, with an auto-off timer for the wind-down. See Slumber Pals →

• Quiet timeCalming Pal

A small sound and mindfulness companion with guided exercises and gentle nature sounds for calm corners and rest time. See Calming Pal →

Alongside the Pals we publish The Pal Tales, picture-book stories about feelings and friendship, and keep a growing set of free breathing tools, a free visual timer and printable calm-corner posters that anyone can use without buying anything.

Who is behind it

The Pal Company is a small team based in Newark, Delaware. We started with one product, the Breathing Pal, which turned "take a deep breath" from a lecture into a game a child wanted to play. Everything since, from the Timer Pal to the free tools on this site, has followed the same rule: calm should be something a child can see, hold and run themselves.
